Wild Blue Joy

A playful dolphin swims through wild blue water, surrounded by bold waves and lots of movement. The dolphin is created from layered patterned fabrics in shades of blue, teal, gray and cream, with small details in the face bringing out that happy expression.

The waves are just as much a part of the painting as the dolphin, with different fabrics layered together to create all that swirling water and energy.

A Note from Storm

I wanted this one to feel happy and full of movement, and I think the waves ended up being just as much fun as the dolphin.

I started out thinking this one might be a little easier after finishing the alligator. Then I noticed the tiny teeth. 😂 Of course I couldn’t just pretend they weren’t there.

I had a lot of fun mixing the different blues and patterned fabrics in the water. The finished piece feels a little wild, a little playful, and very happy—which is how it ended up with the name Wild Blue Joy.
