A Note from Storm
When I was creating Reef Cruiser, I kept coming back to the coral. I loved mixing all those bright colors and patterns to create an underwater world that felt alive. The turtle seems to know he's the star of the show—almost like he's saying, "Yeah, I know I'm awesome." But every time I look at this painting, I still find myself admiring the coral. I hope it makes you feel like you've just discovered a beautiful little corner of the reef that you'll want to visit again and again.

A Note from Storm
I love octopuses. They’re so smart, and there’s just something about them that fascinates me. With Inky Winks, though, I think what I love most is the color. I had so much fun mixing all those purples, blues, pinks, and greens and letting the patterns play off each other.
He looks a little mischievous to me, which somehow seems right for an octopus. I wouldn’t be at all surprised if he knows something we don’t.

What I like most about Quiet Drifters is actually the world around the manatees. I loved building all the layers of water, sand, plants, and little bits of pattern around them.
Sometimes the background becomes my favorite part of a painting, and that’s what happened with this one.

I love seahorses, and what I love most about this one is all the beautiful patterns that make up his body. I had so much fun choosing fabrics for him and watching all those different colors and patterns come together.
To me, he looks right at home among the coral, quietly showing off just how beautiful he is.

Every time I look at this turtle, I can't help but smile. He looks completely relaxed, soaking in his own little spa day while the fish happily fuss over him. I can almost imagine him thinking, "Don't stop now... this is perfect!"
I think we all need a reminder once in a while to slow down, breathe, and enjoy the moment. That's what this painting became for me. I hope it makes you smile too—and maybe even reminds you to take a little "spa day" of your own.

A Note from Storm
Every time I look at this manatee, I imagine him looking right back at me and wondering why everyone is staring at him. He seems a little puzzled by all the attention, like he was just drifting along, minding his own business, when suddenly he realized he had an audience.
I love the expression on his face. It makes me smile every time.

Who doesn’t like mermaids? When I made Sunset's Embrace, I really wanted her to feel like she was underwater. I tried to make her hair look like it was floating all around her, moving with the water instead of just hanging down.
I love the way all those long curls seem to drift around her. To me, that’s what makes her feel like she truly belongs beneath the waves.

Wild Blue Joy is an original fabric painting of a dolphin swimming through a wild, colorful ocean.
I used a mix of patterned and solid fabrics to create the dolphin and the waves around it. The larger pieces build the body and water, while smaller pieces around the face, fins and waves add the details that bring everything together.
Like all of my fabric paintings, every piece is individually cut and fused into place with adhesive. There is no sewing, and this is an original piece of artwork—not a print or reproduction.
