A roseate spoonbill wades quietly through the Florida shallows, dressed in soft pinks, shimmering whites, and just a little attitude. Layered fabric feathers give her wings depth and movement, while patterned fabrics create the marsh, distant trees, aquatic plants, and reflections around her.
Look closely and you'll find some of my favorite tiny details—the delicate feathers around her face and chest, the soft reflection of her legs in the water, and that unmistakable spoon-shaped pink bill.
