What I love most about this painting is all the tiny details. The hummingbirds’ feathers are made from such small pieces of fabric that I had to use tweezers to put some of them into place. The wisteria is just as detailed, with all those little blossoms cascading around the birds.
This was definitely one of those paintings that took a lot of patience, but I love how all those tiny pieces came together. Every time I look at it, I remember just how small some of them really are.
